      • Trademark certificate.

      • MSME certificate (if applicable).
      • Authorization letter for an authorized representative.

Step 2: Scrutiny by BEE for Brand Registration Application

  1. Verification of Application
    • BEE officials review the submitted brand registration application and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
  2. Request for Clarification
    • If discrepancies are found, BEE will raise queries that must be addressed promptly by the applicant.

Step 3: Product Testing

  1. Submit Product Samples
    • Provide product samples to a NABL-accredited laboratory for energy performance testing.

    • Share detailed product specifications with the testing lab for accurate testing and reporting.
  3. Obtain Certified Test Report
    • Ensure the product meets BEE energy efficiency standards and secure the certified test report from the laboratory.

Step 4: Model Registration

  1. Submit Model Details
    • Log in to the BEE portal and provide individual model details, including technical specifications, manufacturing data, and test results.
  2. Upload Required Documents
    • Include the following with the application:
      • Certified test report from NABL-accredited lab.
      • Specimen of the BEE star label for the model.
      • ISO 9001 certificate of the manufacturer.
      • Payment receipt for model registration fees.

Step 5: Scrutiny by BEE for Model Registration

  1. Verification of Model Registration Application

    • BEE verifies compliance with energy efficiency standards and document completeness.

Step 6: Grant of Permission

  • MSME certificate (for Indian manufacturers).
  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Certificate.
  • Authorization letter for the representative.

For Model Registration

  • Payment receipt for model registration.
  • Test report and specimen of the BEE label.

Cost and Timelines

  • Brand Registration: 20–30 working days.
  • Model Registration: 20–25 working days.

Validity and Renewal

BEE registration is valid for three years from the date of approval. Manufacturers must renew their certification before expiration by submitting updated test reports and paying the renewal fee.

Sample Return Policy

  • Tested samples must be collected within 15 days of the test report issuance.
  • Beyond this period, the lab reserves the right to dispose of the sample as per its policy.
